Child-centred approach
We believe children learn best through
play, exploration, and meaningful
relationships. Our experienced
practitioners observe each child closely
and plan activities based on their
individual interests, developmental
stage, and next steps in learning.
Child led activities
are at the heart of our daily practice. We
believe children learn best when they
follow their own interests, curiosity, and
ideas. During child-led play, children are
free to choose activities and resources,
allowing them to explore, investigate, and
learn at their own pace. Practitioners
carefully observe and support children
during these moments, stepping in when
appropriate to extend learning through
positive interaction, questioning, or
introducing new resources.
Learning through play…
Children are encouraged to explore
both indoor and outdoor
environments, developing curiosity,
creativity, and independence. Activities
are designed to be engaging, hands-on,
and appropriate to each child’s age and
abilities.
Early Literacy
We believe children learn best through
play, exploration, and meaningful
relationships. Our experienced
practitioners observe each child closely
and plan activities based on their
individual interests, developmental
stage, and next steps in learning.
Adult led activities
are carefully planned to support each
child’s learning and development in line
with the Early Years Foundation Stage
(EYFS). Our experienced practitioners
introduce purposeful activities that build
key skills such as communication and
language, early maths, physical
development, creativity, and
School Readiness
Through a balance of adult-led and child-
led activities, children are encouraged to
build independence, follow routines,
manage self-care tasks, communicate
their needs, and form positive
relationships. We also support early
literacy and numeracy, listening and
attention skills, and emotional resilience,
all in line with the Early Years Foundation
Stage (EYFS). By working closely with
families and local schools, we ensure
each child is supported and prepared for
their next important step in learning.
Outdoor Learning
Children are encouraged to explore books
independently and with others, develop
listening and attention skills, and begin to
recognise sounds, symbols, and patterns.
Our practitioners support early writing
through fun, hands-on activities such as
drawing, painting, and using different tools
to make marks. By creating a language-rich
environment, we help children build the
foundations for reading and writing while
developing confidence and enjoyment in
communication. Outdoor learning
supports physical development,
wellbeing, and curiosity, helping children
to learn in a natural, stimulating, and
enjoyable way.
